Ephesus Bee with Ruby

$400
This is a beautiful one of a kind handcrafted pendant inspired by the ancient Greeks. It is modeled after a historical silver tetradrachm coin minted in city of Ephesus in Ionia. Images of the bee as a symbol appear very early in the development of ancient Greek coinage. In particular, the prosperous city of Ephesus in Ionia (on the Aegean coast of Turkey) adopted the bee as its civic emblem. There are nearly a thousand different known types of bee-and-stag coins from Ephesus. This particular coin replica has the front side featuring a queen bee with a beautiful ruby set in a solid 24k gold bezel. The backside of the pendant has a depiction of a stag next to a date palm tree. The bail is made with solid 24k yellow gold. The pendant comes with a complimentary chain made of silver that is oxidized to give it a darker look.

There is also the option of choosing a chain with a diamond clasp. That chain is made out of sterling silver and it is two tone with gold plating. The clasp of the chain is made with silver, decorated with tiny diamonds and is two sided.
